About James Darin Corbiere
White Ash Art by James Darin Corbiere
James Darin Corbiere works directly with the grain, shape, and natural character of White Ash. Rather than treating the wood simply as a surface, he responds to the forms he sees within it, building layers of colour and intricate linework around the material itself.
The works below show the range of forms, colours, and compositions that emerge from this approach.
Work and Artistic Connections
James Darin Corbiere’s work is closely connected to the natural character of White Ash. His process begins with observing the wood grain and responding to the shapes, lines, and stories he sees within it.
James and Friends United founder Rolf Bouman met in 2017 through mutual friend and artist Jay Bell Redbird. Their connection brought James’s distinctive work into the Friends United community.
His work can also be viewed at the Friends United International Convention Centre in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
