Aanii, my name is Jonathon G.Simon. I am a self taught artist from Wikwemikoong Unceeded Reserve on beautiful Manitoulin Island, Ontario. A father to two beautiful girls. I have been painting since 1996. I paint from the heart and learn also from that which I paint. My inspiration in painting comes from the world around me and the beauty of it. Jonathon found the Friends United Initiative and Rolf Bouman through other artist members. After travelling to Nova Scotia in 2017, he decided to join the Friend United initiative and many of his paintings can be viewed at the Friends United International Convention Centre.

Work and Artistic Journey

Jonathon G. Simon began painting in 1996 and describes his artistic practice as something that comes from the heart and continues to teach him through the act of painting. His inspiration comes from the world around him and the beauty he finds within it.

After connecting with Friends United through other participating artists, Jonathon travelled to Nova Scotia in 2017 and became part of the Friends United initiative. A selection of his paintings has since become part of the artwork presented through Friends United and can be seen at the Friends United International Convention Centre.
