Nazanni Redbird’s dreamcatchers form part of the Indigenous artwork presented through Friends United. The collection demonstrates her use of varied hoop shapes, woven patterns and suspended elements to create individual pieces.
Her work is closely connected to a wider Redbird/Bell family tradition. Nazanni is the daughter of Ojibway artist, poet and Elder Duke Redbird, the sister of the late Jay Bell Redbird, and the niece of artist Leland Bell. Their work is represented through Friends United and can be seen at the Friends United International Convention Centre in Nova Scotia. Nazanni is also recognized as a gifted teacher, extending this artistic connection beyond her own work.
